Why Locals Love Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls
Nestled in the heart of Baltimore at 529 E Belvedere Ave, Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls is a seafood lover’s sanctuary that elevates the classic lobster roll experience to a whole new level. Specializing in fresh, succulent lobster and authentic New England flavors, this charming seafood restaurant invites guests to savor the taste of the coast with every bite.
Their menu celebrates the star ingredient—lobster—with standout dishes that include the beloved Maine Event: Whole Lobster Roll, offered in styles such as Connecticut, Classic, and Lobster Salad, priced at $22. Each roll features generous portions of tender lobster meat nestled in a buttery, toasted brioche bun that’s both warm and soft, creating a mouthwatering contrast. The Lobster Mac and Cheese ($13) is another decadent treat, rich and creamy, proving that comfort food and seafood make an irresistible pairing.
Soup aficionados will appreciate the thick, velvety Lobster Bisque, a luxurious blend that can be enhanced with extra lobster meat for those craving even more indulgence. For a taste of New England, the Small New England Clam Chowder ($5) offers a hearty, creamy experience that perfectly complements the rolls.
The atmosphere at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is welcoming and personable, reflecting the warmth of its owners—two brothers who bring a genuine and inviting spirit to their establishment. This is not just a meal; it’s a community experience. Regulars rave about the engaging conversations and the feeling of returning to a beloved local treasure. Adrienne Karasik’s memorable Mother’s Day visit, despite driving through pouring rain, encapsulates the dedication customers feel towards the quality and comfort offered here.
Families are thoughtfully considered with a kids’ menu featuring simple but satisfying options like Kids Hot Dog and Kids Grilled Cheese, both at $5—making it a welcoming spot for all ages.
While some visitors like Tim M note that prices lean toward the higher side, the consensus is that the quality and portion size justify the cost. Eastside Maryjane perfectly sums it up when she describes the Connecticut lobster roll as “the best ever,” praising the buttery brioche roll and warm lobster meat paired so expertly. Dee Brookshire’s glowing repeat visits and pairing suggestions with a glass of wine from the Grand Cru bar emphasize how the dining experience here can be leisurely and luxurious.
Whether you’re a Baltimore local or visiting the city, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls invites you to indulge in flavorful, authentic seafood in a cozy, friendly environment that feels both special and comfortably familiar. It’s a destination where every bite tells a story of craftsmanship, care, and culinary passion.

My Mother's Day treat from my husband. We both got CT Rolls and our daughter got the Shrimp Roll. Succulent pieces of lobster and the buns were so filled we ended up with leftovers! The Shrimp Roll was well seasoned with huge shrimp. My husband enjoyed his cup of shrimp and sausage gumbo. Great first experience. It was worth the drive around the beltway in pouring rain! We'll be back! Thank you.

The crab sandwich was really good! The only downside is that it's a bit pricey (over $20).

These brothers are so welcoming and personable. They've been holding this spot down for years, making it a treat everytime I go to stop by. I always wind up getting into an engaging conversation that puts a smile on my face. Besides that the Conneticutt Lobster roll is the best ever. The little brioche roll is warm, toasted, soft and buttery all at the same time. The warm Lobster meat pairs exceptionally well with that brioche and butter flavor that you get in every bite. The only bad thing I was saying was, damn their pickle spear got thinner . Guess they had to cut back from somewhere. . Surprisingly enough that little sando will fill your stomach up enough for whatever meal you choose (breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner) no more no less. So don't get carried away going on a 8 hr road trip and think this sandwich and chips gone last you. Whole takeout experience definitely a 8 out of 10 and I didn't even sit down inside to eat. So I didn't even get a chance to see what the dining in customer service was hitting for and he definitely asked me twice was i sitting down (uh oh chick fila ) . good job black men. I love to see it.

For the record, I have not eaten here, yet, I will and give a review. But for the people who do not understand what "bisque" is: Bisque is a thick, creamy, and smooth soup, traditionally made from a strained broth of shellfish like lobster, crab, or shrimp. It is characterized by its rich, velvety texture, achieved by puréeing the shells to create a flavorful stock and then thickening the soup with heavy cream and sometimes a roux. While seafood is classic, bisques can also be made from other ingredients, such as tomatoes, to create a creamy and luxurious soup. Every review that complained about no lobster in the bisque, your reviews are irrelevant due to your own ignorance...

We have been going to Masons since they opened and always have a great experience. the quality of the lobster rolls is consistent and delectable! - I typically pair my CT lobster roll with a glass of wine from the Grand Cru bar and sit in front of the window to enjoy it - Can’t wait for my next trip

Delicious lobster rolls $15 each but worth every penny! Very fresh and large pieces of lobster meat. Nice location near inner harbor.

1st visit to the square and to this stall. The manager AC and his staff took the best of care of us and also with the food they prepared. Loved the warm buttery lobster roll with bacon and the Lobster Bisque was tasty. We will back again.

Just down right delicious. Nice people, great atmosphere, price is what I expected (in response to a previous review). Being from the northeast, I am used to crab and lobster being a certain price, and I felt that Mason's pricing is similar to Maine/ NH MA coastal prices. Plus, you are paying for them to do all the work for you, so it's well worth it in my opinion. I really enjoyed the two of the crab options on the daily specials and I look forward to trying more the next time I am in town Keep it up guys!!
